Troop 868 is sponsored by St. Aloysius Parish in Shepherdsville, Kentucky.  The church held its annual picnic on June 10 and the troop was invited to erect a rope bridge.   A nominal fee was charged to cross the bridge with all funds raised going to the parish.  In addition to supporting our sponsor's fund-raising efforts, the boys had a good time demonstrating their pioneering skills and the troop gained a good deal of positive exposure.

Scouts were constantly at the ready to catch any patrons who slipped or needed a helping hand to get down after a successful crossing.  The sides were purposely constructed to be short to make crossing easier for smaller children but more challenging for bigger kids and teens.
