Troop 868 sponsored a Merit Badge University program to help scouts earn badges that are best done in small groups or take more time than is available at weekly troop meetings.  Scouts from two other troops also participated.  Sixteen different merit badge subjects were offered, including Art, Law, Space Exploration, Auto Mechanics, Electricity, Music, Cinematography, Scholarship, and others.  Scouts who attended collectively completed 32 merit badges plus an additional 12~15 partials.  The day was divided in two 4-hour class sessions (morning and afternoon) and featured class sizes ranging from 2~8 scouts, so boys received lots of personal attention.

Ms. Vera teaches Citizenship in the Community merit badge. Dave and William listen in Mr. McClure's class on Law merit badge.
Scouts Alex and Tyler rig up a prop to be used in the film they made for the Cinematography merit badge. Mr. Westley (from Missouri Troop 290) talks with scouts in his Computers merit badge class.
