The annual "Light Up Shepherdsville" Christmas Parade is sponsored by Liberty Tax Service.  Various community groups donate $25 to the American Red Cross for the privilege of marching or entering a float.  Groups assemble in the parking lot of Bullitt Lick Middle School and the parade starts at the school's rear driveway off Highway 44 West, goes east to Highway 61, then turns south down the main blocks of town past the county courthouse before ending in Shepherdsville City Park.  The total route is probably not more than half a mile.  Most groups ride in cars or on trailers, but a few groups, like the Bullitt Central High School ROTC group that leads the parade, ours, and the Cub Scouts of Pack 868 choose to march.

Normally held on the first Friday of December, this year's parade had to be postponed one week due to bad weather that closed schools and created icy road conditions on December 6.  The weather on December 13 was better but still cold and rain threatened.  Fortunately, the rain held off for the parade and just long enough for our group to walk back to our cars in the parking lot at the middle school.  Rain began falling just as we reached our cars!  We didn't have a very large turnout of scouts and the number of spectators lining the streets was also pretty sparse, but those who came out had a good time.

Dawson held the American Flag; Gavin and Preston held the troop's banner.  Assistant Scoutmasters Hagermana and Poyner walked behind the group along with several troop parents. Dawson held the American Flag.  ASM James Poyner, ASM Jeff Hagerman, and troop parent Brian Seadler followed Gavin, Matthew, Preston, and Garrett holding the troop banner.  Andrew held the Troop flag.
In the parade, the Troop marched behind the Cub Scouts of Pack 868.
