The Flag Sale is actually a fundraiser for Cub Scout Pack 868.  The troop assists by helping to cover the selling shifts that Cub Scouts are unable to fill.  In this way, the event benefits both units and also provides an excellent opportunity for Boy Scouts to interact with Cub Scouts.  The younger boys really enjoy working with the older Boy Scouts and it makes them look forward to the time when they will be able to move up into the troop.

Scouts work in pairs selling American "stick" flags ... the kind that folks buy to place at grave sites or stick in flower pots or flower beds.  On a holiday weekend such as Memorial Day when folks are already thinking about flags, most folks are more than willing to fork over $1 to help support a uniformed Scout earn his way to camp.
