We had gusty wind overnight on Saturday night that really howled through the hollow, but the only rain that fell was a light mist that lasted less than 10 minutes on Sunday morning as we were preparing breakfast.  We had breakfast, broke camp, and completed the trail by mid-morning on Sunday.  After everyone had a chance to climb the fire tower, the group sat on the guardrails surrounding the parking lot as Assistant Scoutmaster Hagerman conducted a worship service.  We then boarded the bus and headed homeward, stopping at a Ryan's buffet restaurant for lunch about mid-way to Shepherdsville.

Eric rests with FRS radio in hand.  Senior Patrol Leader Connor is in the background. Here we have Thomas, Gavin, Noah, and Dylan.
Noah, Connor, Dylan, and our other Noah set up the camp stoves in preparation to cook lunch. Preston studies his trail map to determine where we are, how far we've hiked, and how far we have yet to go.
Perched on a log eating lunch are Gavin, Thomas, and Tristan. Gavin and Andrew are ready to hit the trail again.
Scoutmaster Meek and Mr. Brookshire trekked along on Sunday morning. The Hickory Ridge Fire Tower is not only one of the few remaining fire towers but one of a very few that are open to the public.
Tristan, SPL Connor, Andrew, Gavin, and Noah enjoyed the view from the top of the fire tower. Back on the ground the boys looked up and waved to Scoutmaster Meek who took this photo from the fire tower.
ASM Hagerman delivered the sermon as the troop gathered for Sunday morning worship.  The wooden guardrail at the base of the fire tower made a convenient bench. Ready to board the bus are Andrew, Noah, and SPL Connor.
