In conjunction with the National Street Rod Association's annual convention in Louisville during the first weekend of August, the Bullitt County Chamber of Commerce decided to host a Friday night cruising event down Buckman Street in Shepherdsville.  Being the first year for the event, some details were still unresolved as the event date drew near,  At the last minute, Troop 868 was asked to set up and staff a First Aid / Lost Children station on the front lawn of the Bullitt County Courthouse and to also assist with trash pickup immediately following the event so that Buckman Street could be re-opened to traffic ASAP.  In keeping with Scouts' tradition of helping when called, Troop 868 scouts and parents responded on short notice with more than enough manpower to get the job done.

Troop 868 Assistant Scoutmaster Chuck Davis, Committee Member Dale Hay, and scouts Trey and Dalton in the troop's booth in front of the Bullitt County Courthouse. Other troop parents, including Steve and Sandy Kmiec, Troop Treasurer Denise Guelda, Ruth Pasqual, and Troop Committee Chairman Sam Borquez, also showed up to help.
Scouts Stephen, Tim, and Adam walked the sidewalks picking up litter during the event.
